Getting Paid
«

I noticed the thread about whether a person should pay if the rules aren't followed. There is also the opposite. Some are careful to follow the rules, and still don't get paid. Usually in this case, the person disappears or completely ignores requests. Should you just let it go and go on or should you try to pursue it? They say that one shouldn't be petty in business and usually these aren't make or break, but do you feel it's the principle of it?

I think the best thing to do in either case (poster or forum owner) is to start out with small jobs with someone and slowly build up to bigger jobs as the trust with each other increases.

I agree about starting with small jobs. Those help build trust, and it's good for business.
I would request payment (as a poster) before I posted, however. It's too easy to not get paid, for example, if the forum changes owners or shuts down or something.
